The Hempstead family have been involved with Irish
Water Spaniels for over 35 years. Arnie had been breeding, showing and judging cockers for many years when Judy persuaded
him to buy her an IWS for her 13th birthday and the family have been hooked on this breed ever since.
We are passionate
about promoting the breed in both the show and working worlds. Our aim is to breed healthy dogs with good temperaments.
We feel it is important that all breeding stock is hip and elbow scored and eye tested as well. The breed mean average hip
score is 11 so anything above that should not be used for breeding. Elbows should be 0 but as long as an elbow score of 1
is only mated to a dog with an elbow score of 0 we feel that this is acceptable.
